New Delhi: The second match of the three-match ODI series between India and New Zealand is to be played on January 14 at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot. India had won the first ODI in Vadodara, and now it wants to continue the same style. A big question before this match is who will be included in Team India's playing-11 in place of injured Washington Sundar.

Why did Washington sunder out?

Washington Sundar was injured while playing against New Zealand in the first ODI. Due to his side strain, he has been ruled out of the remaining series. Due to this, Team India had to make changes in its all-rounder.

Who was chosen in place of Sundar?

BCCI has included Ayush Badoni in the team in place of Sundar. Badoni has got a chance in the national team for the first time and is a part of this series. However, it is not clear whether he will be played in the playing-11 in the Rajkot match or not.

Can Nitish Reddy get a chance?

It is being said in many reports that Nitish Kumar Reddy is also a great option and it is possible that he may be selected in the playing-11. Reddy is already in the squad and the team management can consider his selection. This is the main reason why Badoni's debut cannot be directly in the playing-11 but only as a reserve.

What other changes can happen in the playing-11?

Some other changes may also be seen in the team. Arshdeep Singh may get a chance to replace Prasidh Krishna in the bowling order and spin department in the Rajkot match against New Zealand. Apart from this, the middle order combination is also being monitored so that the team looks balanced.

What is the importance of the match?

India is leading 1-0 after winning the first ODI. If the team registers another win in Rajkot, then it can win the series 2-0. In such a situation, the selection of playing-11 is considered very important, especially to fill the place of injured players.
